I am a wife, mother, engineer, and visiting faculty member living in a midwest college town. My interests are wide and varied and can change just as soon as something new comes along, but some are pretty permanent. I love to cook, garden, walk, play with animals, and do a variety of crafts, though I am definitely a serial craftsperson (focus on one hobby like it is the center of the universe for about a year, then lose interest and move on to something new). In the past I have learned to spin wool, weave, kept worms to create compost, knit, quilted, and scrapbooked. I am trying hard to get back into scrapbooking this summer while I am off work. I would call myself a conservative envirnonmentalist – I do as much as I can without going to extremes, and look at popular behaviors and opinions critically before I jump on any bandwagons. I love to read – the internet, fiction books, non-fiction books, the daily paper, a wide variety of magazines, and the back of cereal boxes. Hopefully, you’ll enjoy reading my blog as much I hope to enjoy writing it.
